Real Madrid playmaker Eden Hazard has been dropped from the Belgium squad ahead of their final World Cup 2022 qualifier against hosts Wales in Group E. Eden Hazard and four others were dropped from the squad with a place at the World Cup tournament in Qatar already sealed.
Belgium secured a spot at the tournament on Qatari soil next year when they emerged as Group E winners in the European section of the qualifiers thanks to the home win over Estonia. New Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has approved the sale of Eden Hazard who has endured a frustrating spell at the club since he joined two years ago.
According to media portal ABC, Ancelotti has given his approval for the possible sale of Eden Hazard as he targets a small squad of 23 players. The Italian tactician wants to trim his large squad to just 23 players. It was revealed that both manager Ancelotti and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez are in agreement about cutting the number of players in the squad.
