Chicago Bears

May 13, 2008
Chicago Tribune, reports Chicago Bears PK Robbie Gould signed a five-year deal Monday, May 12, worth $15.5 million. Gould's agent, Brian Mackler, said, that it's the "richest deal for a kicker in NFL history. The $15.5 million includes performance incentives and a $4.25 million signing bonus.

New York Giants

May 13, 2008
The Giants are expected to bring only four quarterbacks to training camp. They'll decide between Jared Lorenzen and Anthony Wright, according to the NY Post, with David Carr and Andre Woodson safe behind Eli Manning. Carr reportedly has the "inside track" for the No. 2 job. Eli better stay healthy.

New England Patriots

May 13, 2008
NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that the Patriots brought in Kevin Jones for a meeting last week. For now, they are just performing due diligence as Jones recovers from his torn ACL. But it would be a classic Patriots move, picking up an undervalued asset that has plenty of versatility. Jones excels in short-yardage situations and receiving downs, not exactly Laurence Maroney's strengths.

Atlanta Falcons

May 13, 2008
Roddy White was held out of the Falcons' minicamp practice Monday with a "tweaked" hamstring. Coach Mike Smith called White's lack of participation "precautionary." White, who led the NFL in yards after the catch last season, is unlikely to benefit from a toned down passing attack under new coordinator Mike Mularkey.

Dallas Cowboys

May 13, 2008
The Dallas Morning News, reports Dallas Cowboys WR Terrell Owens said he wants to end his career as a Cowboy. "I definitely want to end my career with the Dallas Cowboys, and go into the Hall of Fame as a Dallas Cowboy," Owens said.

Atlanta Falcons

May 13, 2008
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports Atlanta Falcons WR Joe Horn said Monday, May 12, that he would like to be traded. "I want to win a Super Bowl and I want to win a Super Bowl here in Atlanta, but I don't think I can help this team win a Super Bowl sitting on the bench.

Chicago Bears

May 13, 2008
Chicago Sun-Times, reports Chicago Bears QB Kyle Orton is excited about the opportunity to compete for the starting quarterback job in training camp. "It's the most excited I've been going into a season," Orton said. "I've put in a lot of work in the offseason and I'm just really excited where my game is at. I'm throwing the football really well and I'm just excited."

Washington Redskins

May 13, 2008
ESPN.com reports the four men who are charged with first-degree murder and armed burglary of former Washington Redskins FS Sean Taylor will not face the death penalty, according to multiple reports.

Cleveland Browns

May 13, 2008
Kellen Winslow (knee surgery) is not expected to attend Browns OTAs. Other injured players like Steve Heiden (back) and Joe Jurevicius (knee) will be there. The Cleveland Plain Dealer suggests Winslow's absence is contract related. Upgrading Winslow's deal is not currently the team's priority.

St. Louis Rams

May 13, 2008
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, if the Rams want to keep RB Steven Jackson beyond 2008, it's going to cost the team. Jackson is entering the final season of the original five-year, $7 million deal he signed in July 2004 after the Rams made him their first-round draft choice (No. 24 overall) that year.

Houston Texans

May 13, 2008
Houston rookie RB Steve Slaton, drafted by the Texans in the third round, is getting plenty of snaps to show coach Gary Kubiak what he can do. "I'm just trying to learn the system, trying to get the plays down so that I can make an impact right now," said Slaton, the 89th overall pick. "The pass plays and the pass protections, that's where my biggest trouble is coming from." But the Texans have six running backs on the minicamp roster. Ahman Green and Chris Brown are the top two on the depth chart.
