According to former England left-back Ashley Cole, Jack Grealish possesses similar qualities as Real Madrid superstar Eden Hazard. Since the past season, Grealish has put in a number of sophisticated performances for club side Aston Villa and has attracted praise from football legends and fans.

Cole believes that Grealish is a really top player and is a similar player to former Chelsea playmaker Hazard. However, despite his stings of emphatic performances for his club side, the 25-year-old has had to wait for opportunities to come by in the England setup.

The Aston Villa captain is now quietly finding his way into the Three Lions team though, having featured in England’s two games in the international break. However, he was handed his first ever start by Gareth Southgate in the UEFA Nations League match against Belgium – a game Southgate’s men lost 2-0.

Despite the loss, Grealish yet again showed glimpses of what he is capable of should he be given the chance. His performance made Ashley Cole shower him some praises and compared him to the Eden Hazard of Chelsea who was a force to reckon with on his day.

Cole highlighted that Grealish’s ability to beat players, pull strings, and win fouls can add up and yield fruitful outings for England.

In just seven Premier League appearances this season, Grealish has already scored four goals and provided five assists. That’s a better goal per game ratio compared to last season, where he needed 36 matches to score eight goals and register six assists.

Aston Villa return to Premier League action on Saturday as they host Brighton and Hive Albion in what will be their eighth game of the season. Grealish will be hoping to continue his fine form in this outing, as he looks to surpass his last season’s goal and assists stat as quickly as possible.
