Auto Parts Guide For Fantasy Football Fanatics
It's Superbowl weekend, and you're planning a ride to your best buddy's house party to watch the game. Your car's packed with your buddies, some beefy steaks, and lots of beer. It's going to be a long road trip up to that BBQ. Well, good call to have checked your ride beforehand for the most obvious things that can ruin your Superbowl weekend and can leave you and your buddies behind.
Lighting Parts
It's not a big thing to give your headlights and tail lights a check-up before hitting the road. That might save you from being pulled over- police officers ain't no fun. Check each headlight bulb and fog light to make sure you avoid trouble with those officers.
Under The Hood
What's under the hood is worth looking at, too. A failing radiator will not only heat up your engine. Your blood will boil if you're stuck on the freeway and the kick-off time gets closer. But what if your engine is underperforming? Check the state of the air filter for dust and road grime, look at the fuel filter for debris and check if the fuel pump is functioning properly. There's more: a faded carburetor will slow down your ride, and a worn out fuel injector can hinder the right amount of gas reaching the combustion chambers. To improve your car's performance, take a look at the mass air flow sensor. It's located next to the engine and it controls the air-fuel ratio. A MAF in tip-top shape can save you real cash at the pump.
Speaking of gas, give your emission and exhaust system regular maintenance. It's unlikely you'll miss the Superbowl because of a cracked exhaust manifold, but your smog inspector will give you trouble for sure. Once you're inspecting the exhaust system of your car, don't miss the EGR valve and the exhaust muffler.
Some Electronics And Other Tiny Parts
Check-up is almost complete. The beer is still cold, and your buddies are in a rush. Don't leave before taking a close look at the alternator, which is one of the most important parts of your car's electrical system. Without some current, the spark plugs wouldn't fire your engine, the voltage regulator would be useless, and the ignition coil would waste its time being bored. Finally, don't leave the serpentine belt behind. It drives most of the gears and axles. Also, the power steering pump is prone to wear and tear. And, having that rig packed with lots of excited Superbowlers, you'll want to make sure your shock absorbers are still doing their job.
Looks like you're all set. Game on!
